If you have not finished The Last Hope, I strongly suggest you don't read this.
Hey, guys! Most of you have probably heard that I wanted to do a fan-wrote novella [Hollyleaf's Story, Mistystar's Omen, etc.] on Breezepelt after the events of The Last Hope.

Breezepelt's Path
Prologe

The old, gray tom stood in the small clearing, next to a pool of water. He was staring intently into it, watching the misty shape of a cat. As a breeze rippled the water, he heard a faint rustle behind him. His head turned, ears pricked, to see a small group of lean cats quietly making their way down the hillside. Once they were within hearing distance, a silver she-cat in the front spoke.
"You asked us to come, Smallnose?" the graceful she-cat inquired, tipping her head to one side.
"Yes," he rasped, waving his tail at the pool. The other cats gathered around, looking at the black cat it showed. There was a sharp intake of breath and the cats began whispering to one another.
"What is the purpose of this?" a ginger tom growled, stepping forward. "Why do you show him to us?"
"Because something needs to be done," Smallnose said, giving the tom a hard look. "We cannot allow him to leave the Clans, Spidersun."
"And why not?" a cat called out. There were murmurs of approvment and agreement as the old cat shifted his paws.
"Yes," a scraggly she-cat spoke up. "He betrayed the Clans for the Dark Forest! Why should he stay?"
"Everyone deserves a second chance," Smallnose meowed stubbornly. "You of all cats should know that, Tangleshine."
The orange and white cat hissed. "Don't bring that into this. The problem isn't me, it's him." She jerked her head at the pool. "He doesn't deserve "a second chance" because of his actions the first time. He'll probably run to the Dark Forest again."
"Yes, she's right," Spidersun agreed. "And anway, he won't want to come back; he hates the Clans."
The first she-cat looked at Smallnose sadly. "You only want him to come back because he's Crowfeather's son. I hate to say it, but he's moved on. He hates his family. Even you couldn't talk sense into him, especially if you mentioned being the father of Deadfoot."
"Fine, Brightstar," he sighed, drooping his tail. "I won't try to bring him back. Thank you for coming." He watched as the cats trickled away one-by-one, until only he was left. He padded over to the water's edge, gazing into it.
"I'm not going to forget you, Breezepelt. I know there's good in you yet."
Chapter One
The wind screamed past the lone cat, violently ruffling his fur the wrong way. It whistled by fiercely, much stronger than he'd experienced before. Wind doesn't bother me normally, but this isn't normal wind, he thought, gritting his teeth. But it's no use complaining about things I can't control.
He glanced around at the rough, rocky terrain, trying to decide which way to go. I certainly don't want to be stuck traveling over rocks for an extended amount of time, so I guess I'll go the opposite direction from the mountains - past Horseplace. Back the way the Clans came from.
He hated himself for thinking of the Clans, unable to stop himself from looking over his shoulder at the lake for a last time. A cat stood there, blocking his view, staring at him. The wind had masked any signs of arrival, and blew the scent away, but he still knew who it was - his mother. Nightcloud. He felt his lip curl back into a snarl. "Why are you here?" he growled, unsheathing his claws.
"I'm coming with you, Breezepelt," she mewed calmly. Breezepelt stiffened. "No, you're not."
"And why not?" she asked, eyes flashing.
"Because I said you aren't. I know what you're aiming at, too. You want to come so you can get away from Crowfeather." He spat out his father's name and dug his claws into the ground. The look that passed over his mother's face confirmed it. "Well, you're going to have to deal with him, because you're not coming with me."
"Fine," she snarled. "Good luck living by yourself in unknown territory." She lashed her tail and left, furious. He watched her go, uncaring. Ha! Does she really think I need her?
Once her tail tip disappeared over the ridge, he turned back to face his planned path. He brushed her out of his mind and began to pick his way through the rocks, heading away, away from the Clans. . . .
