| The first time I saw you, it felt so surreal.
I never would have imagined you would change how I feel.
Though you never truly knew how strong it was,
I developed a new type of love, and you were the cause.
The first few days moved in slow motion,
After a week passed, I began to get a notion
That everything happens for a reason, right?
I'm at the end of the tunnel, but I can't see the light.
You couldn't do anything yet - it was far too early
But everytime I looked at you, the giddy feeling I got was girly.
I wasn't supposed to be excited, that's not how it goes.
It's definitely not how they do it on those dramatic TV shows.
But I cherished you still, and eventually I thought,
"I have to be honest, you're the only thing I've got."
Though the memory is terrible and and is forever burned in my mind,
The result was you, and it was the best thing in my life I could find.
Then that tragic day came, that visit to the man in the white coat.
His face grew serious, an expression far from a gloat.
"I'm sorry," he said, making my blood run cold.
"This was never meant to happen." It was said clearly, as if he spoke in bold.
My pain escaped in the form that water flows
It was like my heart was shot by a million crossbows.
Now when I looked at you, there was nothing there.
I never got time to hold you, but then again, life's not fair.
I should have prevented it, but now I feel empty and jaded.
Because right out from under me and without warning, from my life you simply f a d e d . . . | |
